A Tropical Storm watch is now in effect for Barbados. The Barbados Meteorological Services in the first advisory issued at 5 this evening, said the low pressure center in the mid-Atlantic has now strengthened to a Tropical Depression.
Met officials say storm conditions are likely to affect Barbados in the next 36 hours. “On this present track the center of the system is expected to pass just north of Barbados early on Friday morning and move across the central Lesser Antilles late Friday evening” stated the bulletin.
The depression is said to be moving toward the west-northwest at near 18 miles per hour.
The next bulletin will be issued at 5 tomorrow morning. (PR/CM)
