A?NUMBER?of doctors, including a well known cardiologist, have not been included in a new Specialist Register established by the Barbados Medical Council.
And the SUNDAY?SUN?has been reliably informed that some have written to the council appealing the non-listing, with at least one reported to be contemplating legal action.
When contacted, chairman of the council, Sir Errol “Mickey” Walrond, explained that since the new Medical Act came into force last June, there had been two registers – one for general practitioners and the other covering medical specialists.
Sir Errol admitted that a number of doctors working as specialist physicians had not been included in the new Specialist Register.
