While thousands of revellers were gearing up for Grand Kadooment, a couple hundred men were making their way to the People’s Cathedral church for their annual conference.
The men-only conference, which is now in its 11th year, was held under the theme Following Jesus Christ and featured the speaker Bishop Dr Patrick Glasgow from Trinidad and Tobago, head of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies.
Organizer of the event and head of Men’s Ministry at People’s Cathedral, Mike Goddard, explained that one of the main reasons for holding the conference on the same day as Grand Kadooment was to give men an opportunity to get together and engage in positive activities rather than indulge in the festivities of Crop Over.
He said that the event had received good response throughout the years, growing from just 35 men in the first year to an expected turnout of over 300 men for this year’s conference.
