Almond pay set for October

MORE?THAN?100 STAFFERS?of Almond Beach Club, which has been bought by Elite Island Resorts, will receive their severance pay on Monday, October 2.
 The staffers received letters informing them that their redundancy took effect from August 2 (last Thursday).
 “We are happy we are getting our money soon and are looking forward to working with Elite,” one staff member told the DAILY?NATION.  
“Many of us are looking forward to the next few months because we think Elite is capable of making an impact.”
 Staffers are also collecting pay in lieu of notice tomorrow. A month’s pay will go to workers who have served five years or more, and two weeks pay will be for those who have worked less than five years.
 Workers have also expressed delight that they will be receiving backpay on August 31.
 “I don’t think too many of us are complaining. Things have worked out well. It is up to us to put our best foot forward with our new bosses,” another staffer added.
