Jamaica wins bronze in women’s 4x400m relay

Jamaica’s 4X400m women’s relay team has won bronze.
This has pushed the country medal tally to 11, the same as Beijing haul. Jamaica’s squad for the women’s 4X400m comprised Christine Day, Rosemarie Whyte, Shericka Williams and Novlene Williams Mills on anchor. The Jamaicans ran a season best 3:20.95. The United States ran a season best 3:16.87 to win gold and Russia (3:20.23) another season best to take silver. The fourth and fifth placed teams also ran season best. Nigeria was disqualified.
