PITCHING CAN be an effective teaching tool, says president of the Association of Public Primary Schools Principals, Ivan Clarke.
In fact, Clarke is guilty of pitching and engaging in other sports with his charges at Hilda Skeene Primary School; and he is encouraging his fellow principals to do the same.
Clarke’s prompt came during his address to the principals’ association at its annual breakfast meeting at Hilton Barbados yesterday.
His word to the heads came less than a week after embattled principal of The Alexandra School, Jeff Broomes, was chided by commissioner of the inquiry into affairs at the St Peter School, retired High Court Judge Frederick Waterman, for pitching with his students. (YB)
