TWO BARBADIANS are counting their lucky stars after emerging with just cuts and bruises following a horrific-looking accident that ended with their vehicle flipping over.
The identity of the husband and wife reportedly of Pickwick Gap, St Michael, was withheld by police, pending “positive confirmation”.
The accident occurred along Westbury Road, St Michael, after a light shower yesterday evening. The driver of the 4X4 vehicle lost control as it skidded across the road.
The vehicle, which ended up on its top, ploughed into a low wall in front of St Leonard’s Anglican Church.
Ismail Patel of the Roving Response Team said both of the vehicle’s occupants suffered cuts and bruises, but were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a precautionary measure. “It is a miracle it wasn’t worse,” he said.
Eyewitness reports said residents of nearby New Orleans helped the two out of the badly damaged vehicle. (CA)
