The public was invited into the St Philip District Hospital yesterday as part of Senior Citizens’ Week celebrations.
There were displays of craft, decorations for the wards, a slideshow and invited guests such as Fielding Babb, who showed pictures of old Barbados and Brereton Lewis, who played the piano and recited poetry.
Staff nurse in charge of ward C1, Andrew Alleyne said the theme for the week was Cornerstones Of The Society and thus they highlighted the jobs their patients used to do.
They paid tribute to them with a video slideshow as well as created a small shrine to former plantation worker and cricketer Everton Bancroft, 78, who came to the district hospital last year. (CA)
