A St Michael family could only watch helplessly as fire badly damaged their two-storey concrete residence yesterday.
Roma Cozier, who lived with her 93-year-old father Fred Cozier in the house in Welches, said when she went upstairs to her office she saw the smoke.
“I came outside and tried to get the hose, but the water pressure was not great,” she reported.
Cozier shouted to brother Gerald Cozier, who lives nearby and was visiting, to call the Barbados Fire Service while she moved her father to safety.
Friends and relatives soon rallied around Roma and her father, offering words of comfort and iced water as firefighters did their work. The house was insured. (CA)
