Barbados’ first World track and field champion Ryan Brathwaite was presented with the insignia of the Silver Crown of Merit (SCM)?by Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave yesterday at Government House.
It was given in recognition of his attainment of a gold medal in the 110 metres hurdles at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
Brathwaite was accompanied on his visit to Government House by athletic therapist Chalise Jordan and friend and mentor Trevor Welch.
