Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is confident that whatever must be done will be done at The Alexandra School since the problems there simply cannot be allowed to remain.
Stating that the public now knows exactly what the difficulties were at Alexandra – as a result of the Commission of Inquiry whose report and recommendations were laid in Parliament three weeks ago – Stuart told reporters yesterday those recommendations would now be handled by the relevant agencies.
“I issued a statement on the Alexandra report after it was made public, and I said that it has been passed on to the relevant agencies to do whatever it is thought necessary to be done. I am confident that what needs to be done is being done. There is nothing now that the Prime Minister as Prime Minister has to do in relation to the report,” he said during his annual Christmas party at Ilaro Court.
Stuart explained that the report had made recommendations which had to be evaluated and which had been endorsed by his Cabinet. These, he added, were “now within the purview of the relevant agencies to do what they think is appropriate in all the circumstances”.
