ST PHILIP and St John advanced at the expense of St Lucy and St Peter respectively when the Inter-parish Road Tennis Competition continued on Wednesday night at Bush Hall.
In the B division, Alex Clarke of St Philip defeated Basil Cumberbatch of St Lucy 21-15, 23-21, and Ryan Hall ensured a St Philip clean sweep by trouncing Jamal Scantlebury
21-9, 21-11.
St John needed the points advantage to advance after splitting their veterans battle with St Peter.
Top man from St John, Winston Padmore, saved the contest by dismissing Antoine Greaves 21-10, 21-13, after teammate Basil Hoyte was edged by Winfield Trotman 21-18, 16-21, 18-21.
The lone schoolboy clash saw Dario Hinds of St James defeating Kyle Elder of St Philip 21-10, 21-5. Last year Hinds competed as a player for St Michael.
One of the highlights of the night was an exhibition by eight-year-old Kajay Sealey.
