Woman with a strong heart

WHEN SHE WAS in her 80s, Carmen Sylvia Fenty’s doctor predicted that she was going to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Last Saturday, the prediction came true when Fenty, who was born in Speightstown, St Peter, celebrated the milestone with a visit from Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave and family members who flew in from Canada and Australia to be with her at the 1st Class Care Services nursing home in Golf Club Road, Rockley, Christ Church.
The agile and cheerful centenarian, looking pretty in a flowered dress, was all smiles, making a joke or two with those around her.
Joan Morris described her mother as a wonderful woman and recalled the conversation she had with the doctor.
