Combermerians recently honoured another three of their own outstanding alumni at the annual Blue Ribbon Class Testimonial Dinner at the Hilton Hotel.
Anton Norris, an outstanding athlete and a noted contributor to the management of Barbados’ industrial development; Dr Leonard Nurse, expert in coastal zone management who has also distinguished himself regionally and internationally in the area of climate change; and musician Arturo Tappin, who has made his name at home and abroad as an accomplished saxophonist, were inducted into the Blue Ribbon Class.
In true Combermerian style, speakers like Tony Cave, Basil Lavine, Junior Jordan and Tony Bushell waxed poetic, indulging in the kind of eloquent utterances for which the Waterford clan is known, Latin phrases and all.
