Principal Jeff Broomes, reassigned from the Alexandra School to Parkinson Memorial School, will not be there today.
Broomes has been out on certified leave before the start of the term, and deputy principal Maxine Mayers has assumed responsibility for the running of the school in the interim.
Minister of Education Ronald Jones had said Broomes would have been out until yesterday.
Broomes said he was “resting” when the WEEKEND NATION checked in with him yesterday, and he expressed surprise that the ministry had given such a date. (YB)
