THE WORLD CAN BE a scary place, but God’s people have nothing to fear.
Canon Gregston Gooding, rector of the St George Parish Church, told the congregation yesterday at a service to mark the Social Partnership’s Week Of Excellence that faith in God was the remedy for fear.
“It cannot be denied, we live in fearful times. Every day there are reports of situations which can drive fear into our hearts . . . what is the remedy [for] fear? The scriptures teach us it is faith in God,” he said.
Gooding said fear can be a positive emotion as it fosters caution and circumspection but unhealthy fear could trigger inappropriate behaviour.
