Government member of Parliament Dr David Estwick was glaringly absent from yesterday’s swearing-in of Cabinet members, but Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has sought to assure that his team remains united.
Explaining that his Minister of Agriculture was simply ill, Stuart said he would be sworn in either today or Monday.
Eyebrows were raised at Estwick’s absence when his name was called among those to be sworn in. Half-hour later, when the ceremony began around 11:09 a.m., the name of the St Philip West representative was omitted.
Asked what was going on, the Prime Minister told the media afterwards that Estwick’s voice was gone.
