Concern about various forms of media and a flagrant disregard for the law has been voiced by the Electoral and Boundaries Commission (EBC).
The EBC is not only concerned about the failure to remove party posters but the allegations of vote buying, lack of objectivity in the media and the inability to control social media.
And while social media concerns were not reported to him in a substantial way in the recent general election, EBC chairman Owen Estwick feels it is an area that will need some form of control in the future.
“I personally am not a Facebook person but it is a real thing, and it is an area that will have to be looked at in due course,” he told the SATURDAY SUN yesterday.
