7-year-old leak!

ORVILLE BAKER has had enough of what he calls the “overbearing” situation along Station Hill, St Michael.
The irate Deane’s Village resident called the MIDWEEK?NATION to point out a water leak, which he said had been persisting for more than seven years.
He said an underground leak had been affecting the hard court area of the Andrew Alleyne Community Centre for too long and the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) seemed clueless about how to fix it.
“Four or five months ago the water pressure blew up the road and workers from [the BWA] came to fix it but they still left the leak underground. There is so much water wasting, but yet other people can’t get water in Barbados,” he lamented.
Baker pointed to cracks in a guard wall, which he said the underground leak was causing, as well as to where a line of grass was growing, an indication of where the water was flowing.
When contacted, a BWA representative said they would investigate the problem. (CA)
