Barbados has made a major breakthrough in the international cruise market that is expected to result in a significant increase in passenger arrivals over the next two seasons.
Pullman Tour Cruises, a European operator, will be bringing its ship Horizon here for the 2013/2014 season, while Disney Cruise Lines’ Disney Magic will include Barbados in its ports of call in the 2014 season.
Making the announcement Friday, chief executive officer of Foster and Ince Cruise Services Inc., Martin Ince, said: “This is big news for Barbados.”
He told the SUNDAY?SUN the Pullman Tour Cruises deal represented a significant inroad into the French market, specifically, as well as the opening-up of the wider European market. In the case of Disney, he said this meant that Barbados would gain valuable exposure through its inclusion in Disney’s marketing.
