Work to repair and enhance the roof of the beautiful bandstand that forms part of the Esplanade on Bay Street began yesterday.
Located between Government Headquarters, including the Prime Minister’s Office, and the idyllic Brownes Beach, the bandstand has proven to be a meeting point for thousands of people through the years.
By midday yesterday the work had progressed to the stage where the green panelling was almost removed to allow the workmen to determine which wooden section needed to be replaced or repaired before new panels could be put in place. (KB)
