Bourne seeks redemption

JOSEPH?“Runt”?Bourne has for the last two decades dreamed of winning the Mr Bridgetown, the longest running bodybuilding contest in the Caribbean.
On Saturday night that dream should become a reality when he brings his rugged, rock-hard muscle to the stage for the 2013 edition at the Combermere School hall.
Bourne, 48, wants to win this contest badly. In two decades on the contest stage, all he has to show is a triumph in the 1992 Mr St Michael competition.
The closest he has come to winning the contest was in 1991 when he placed second to Therold Babb.
It is a measure of how long he has been around and part of the frustration he has endured over recent years, none more so than when he placed sixth in a seven-man field at the 2010 contest.
