Christians need to adopt the John The Baptist approach to the fight against homosexuality and same-sex marriages – be willing to die to get the message across.
This is the view of attorney Tennyson Vaughn, who has lamented that the voices of Christians and the church are not heard in the debate on the subjects.
Vaughn was speaking yesterday during a panel discussion hosted by Bush Hall’s Shalem Evangelical Church and Project PROBE Ministries, on the topic Are Same-sex Unions Really Gay?
Responding to a question about what role the church could play in preventing the passage of pro-homosexual legislation, he said there was a good reason for the separation of church and state, but admitted that the church and Christians had been conspicuously silent on the issue of homosexuality and same-sex marriages.
But he said Christians needed to write letters, encourage their church leaders to speak out and to even threaten to withhold votes if parliamentarians did not speak out against the practices.
