THE EDEN LODGE Nursery School is getting back to its roots this week, with students focusing on their heritage.
Principal Roseclaire Blades said children needed to be aware of their African heritage from an early age so they could feel proud of it and build a sense of self-confidence.
The school held its I Am Afro-Bajan Day yesterday, with the programme including songs, dance and drama.
Blades said the school would be continuing with African-themed storytelling today and tomorrow, in one case involving members of the National Library Service.
The programme ends with an open day on Friday, when there will be a display of healthy foods as well as health and teeth checks.
