THE?BARBADOS ROAD?Safety Association (BRSA) is mounting a campaign to to get Government to install traffic lights on the busy Spring Garden Highway.
BRSA president, Charmaine Roland-Bowen said yesterday that while there had not been fatalities on on highway since 2010, people were still being injured on the stretch.
“We hear about the fatalities but we are not hearing about the people who are getting knocked down and going in hospital and some disabled . . . because they don’t make the news so the general public doesn’t know that it is still happening,” she told the MIDWEEK NATION.
Roland-Bowen also said that residents of the immediate area and other Barbadians were being encouraged to sign a petition which will be taken to the Minister of Transport and Works, requesting the traffic lights as soon as possible. (AH)
