An American visitor died yesterday while on his way to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Police reported that Mark Engels, 58, was sea-bathing at the Crane Beach in St Philip “when it was noticed that he was unresponsive in the water”.
He was then taken from the water and CPR was performed by a lifeguard and medical personnel on the scene.
Police this morning said Engels died in the ambulance on his way to the hospital.
Engels was vacationing in Barbados with his wife.
