RESIDENTS of the exclusive Sandy Lane Estate in St James want taxi drivers to stop “monkeying around” on the private roads at the estate.
For the past several months taxi drivers have been taking visitors on tours through the estate to get a glimpse of the local green monkey.
But residents complained that the taxis and tour buses were blocking the roads, damaging the golf course and causing the monkeys to go into homes on the estate looking for food.
As a result, security guards are now posted at the two areas where taxi drivers take the tourists in an effort to prevent taxis from congregating in those areas.
