The irate parent who flung principal Jeff Broomes’ spectacles to the ground after taking a swipe at him was convicted and bonded when he reappeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
In addition, Peter St Mark will pay for the damaged pair of spectacles.
St Mark, of St Michael, was before Magistrate Douglas Frederick yesterday after spending just over a week on remand at HMP Dodds.
When he initially appeared in court, he had pleaded guilty to damaging the Parkinson Memorial Secondary School principal’s spectacles but had denied assaulting him on May 9.
Yesterday, he threw in the towel on the assault charge and attorney at law Wilfred Abrahams explained that St Mark was contrite and had apologized to Broomes. The attorney further said St Mark had compensated the principal for the damage to his spectacles.
