MUSICAL ENTERTAINERS of Barbados are being offered a home.
It is the Village Gate which, for its 25th anniversary this month, will be renamed the Francine B. Edwards mini theatre for the performing arts, Peter Roy Byer, owner of the Waterford, St Michael facility told the MIDWEEK?NATION yesterday.
The renaming will also signal the Crop Over 2013 opening of the Kingdom of Super Gladiators calypso tent.
Byer said the renaming ceremony on June 13 will be hosted by Edwards, who is renowned in musical circles as kaiso queen Singing Francine.
The ceremony will also feature the opening of Gladiators with its cast of 16 calypsonians vying for the Pic-O-De-Crop and Party Monarch titles.  (RJ)
