GREED is one of the fundamental causes of the current world recession, says a local Anglican priest.
“Even if it is institutionalized greed,” said Canon Austin Carrington, “aided and abetted by personal greed and ambition,” it is a major contributor to the world’s current economic woes.
Carrington, rector of the Christ Church Parish Church, was delivering the sermon to mark the beginning of a week of activities of the Christ Church Foundation Old Scholars’ Association.
“What does an individual do from day to day, that his bonus is more than the budget of the whole Anglican Church in one year?” the cleric asked. (RL)
