Something’s wrong!

THERE IS SOMETHING fundamentally wrong with Barbadian society if people can commit horrendous acts of violence without empathy, said coordinator of the September 3rd Foundation, David Comissiong.
“The way those young ladies died suggests there is something wrong with our social ethos. When those young men saw that small claustrophobic store full of young ladies . . . they looked at those young ladies and did not see their sisters, their kinfolk or their fellow Barbadians – something is wrong with that,” he said.
Comissiong was speaking yesterday at a church service at James Street Methodist Church in commemoration of the six women killed in clothing store Campus Trendz on September 3, 2010, when it was firebombed.
The women were Shanna Griffith, Nikkita Belgrave, Pearl Cornelius, Tiffany Harding, Kellishaw Olivierre and Kelly-Ann Welch.
