Rotary rewards disabled

THREE EXCEPTIONAL members of the disabled community were honoured last Friday for their contributions to society.
The awards were presented by the Rotary Club of Barbados as part of their Pride Of Workmanship awards. The ceremony took place at Hilton Barbados.
“This is something we do every year to award people from all walks of life.
As director of vocational services I came up with the idea last year to look at people with disabilities as this is my focus as a police officer,” said Superintendent Jedder Robinson.
He added he was amazed at how well those with disabilities functioned so this year he wanted to award three of them for their work.
Barry Weekes, a cashier at Carlton and A1 Supermarket; Junior “Irie Kid” Howell, an artist, and Patrick Forde, an upholsterer and dancer, were awarded during a special ceremony featuring video presentations of their work and lives.
