A TROUGH SYSTEM is currently affecting the island and residents have been advised to take the necessary precautions.
A release from the Barbados Meteorological Office stated that the trough system would continue to generate moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms across Barbados.
This pattern is projected to continue for the next six to 12 hours and with the earth already saturated, some flash-flooding may occur. Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to take precautions and remain on the alert.
Improvement is expected tonight and into tomorrow.
Last Friday, another trough system affected the island, causing flooding in several areas and slowing traffic to a crawl.
