Crime Stoppers Barbados is concerned over an apparent spike in crime and is urging the public to give information on the criminals.
“We cannot allow the criminals in our society to dictate the type of life that we want to have here in Barbados,” said Julie Dash, chairman of the organization.
Through Crime Stoppers, which is not a law enforcement agency, witnesses or anyone with information can help to solve crimes by providing tip-offs while remaining anonymous. Crime Stoppers has an international network.
Dash’s comments were contained in a statement issued by the organization yesterday. It cited the death of a 53-year-old woman who was found at her home in St Thomas on Thursday; a shooting incident in St Matthias, Christ Church, that same day and reports of shooting incidents in the New Orleans community.
