Hundreds?of Barbadians defied the overcast conditions and headed to the Frank Collymore Hall for the opening of the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) dance finals on Thursday night.
And they were not disappointed as the cream of the dancing fraternity in Barbados pulled out all the stops to get the judges’ nod for one of the incentive awards at stake.
Up for grabs are the Madam Ifill Award for non-professionals, The Prime Minister’s Scholarship, The Prime Minister’s Award and the LIME Creator’s Award among other prizes.
Participants also had an opportunity to land a spot at the upcoming Gala where they could showcase their talent for further exposure.
Here, the Israel Lovell Foundation, one of the more seasoned groups, in a section of their piece entitled Voices Of The Soul, depicting the voices of the lost slaves who never had a proper burial and hence an unheard voice.
