Bravo: Different ball game

KOCHI – Stressing the West Indies need to be smart and skilful, captain Dwayne Bravo says it won’t be smooth-sailing for India in the three-match One-Day International cricket series starting today at the Nehru Stadium, unlike the preceding two-match Test series.
In fact, Bravo says the West Indies’ bowlers, led by mystery off-spinner Sunil Narine, the No.1 ranked bowler in ODIs, who was surprisingly not part of the Test squad which lost both matches by an innings inside three days, could exploit the Indian conditions.
Bravo said he had watched India’s previous ODI series against Australia, where totals of 300-plus were scored regularly, and he believed Narine would be the trump card.
“Their previous series was a run-feast . . . but these are different conditions, different venues, and we have a different bowling attack,” he said. (EZS/WICBMEDIA)
