WITH THE GOVERNMENT ALREADY FACING SERIOUS FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS plans are already under way to aggressively pursue private sponsorship for next year’s David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic (DTMCCFC).
This assurance has come from Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development, Steven Blackett, whose ministry is responsible for the hosting of the annual tournament.
In revealing that the planned strategy of hiring a marketing consultant to help promote the 2013 edition did not work out, Blackett explained that due to the economic situation, obtaining sponsorship was necessary for the continued success of the tournament.
“We are definitely going to aggressively pursue sponsorship in the fourth year.
“We attracted some sponsorship this year through the HIV Commission . . . but we will be looking for additional sponsorship next year,” he told NATION SPORT.
