Stop?the consulting and start implementing.
That was the advice given yesterday by Ann Reid, chief executive officer of the Barbados Private Sector Association (BPSA), as she responded to the ten-point proposal submitted to Government by the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW)?aimed at saving more than 3 000 jobs and raising revenue.
Reid, who said at the time that she still needed to study the plan, said there had been lots of consultations recently and it was time for Government to start implementing.
“The social partnership has been given an opportunity to consult and the BPSA has also taken the opportunity to make various recommendations,”?she said. “We are past the stage of consulting – nothing is going to be perfect. We need to stop consulting and start implementing because there are things happening which we have to address and we have to do it swiftly.”
