MINISTER OF FINANCE CHRIS SINCKLER has described the ten-point proposal of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) as “interesting” but does not believe it will achieve the objective of putting Barbados back on a sound economic footing.
Opposition Leader Mia Mottley shares that view.
In a brief conversation with the DAILY NATION yesterday, Sinckler described the ten points as “some interesting ideas but it will not get us where we have to go”.
Sinckler, who noted last December 13 that consultations would continue with the workers’ unions, of which the NUPW is the most relevant since it represents over 10 000 public servants, offered no further comment.
