FLIGHT DISRUPTIONS DUE to severe weather conditions in the United States continue to affect individuals trying to leave Barbados.
Around 100 passengers seeking to leave the island via JetBlue today were again met with cancellations.
The DAILY NATION understands frustrated people have been trying to leave since last Friday but have been unable to do so, instead being told they would have to wait until this Friday and later.
Some said they would not fly with JetBlue again.
However, corporate communications specialist at the Grantley Adams International Airport Keith Goddard said bad weather conditions at JFK Airport would result in cancellations and the situation was nothing new.
“When these things happen, there will be a backlog of passengers but it is not a case where passengers are stranded as airlines inform passengers to check beforehand. What is happening over the past few days is not something we are unaccustomed to dealing with; the airlines will manage the situation,” he said. (CA)
