Residents in Regent Hill, Pinelands, St Michael, were left pondering what was going on after a utility pole in the area was uprooted yesterday and left lying on the ground for more than seven hours before any utility company responded.
Residents reported that a Sanitation Service Authority vehicle was driving through the area around 6 a.m. when it got entangled in low-hanging wires. It subsequently uprooted the pole.
As a result, the fallen pole brought down surrounding cables and even ripped some of them from their connections with houses.
“I called [Barbados] Light & Power (BL&P) but they said to call LIME, but I didn’t get through. So I called FLOW and they said they would send someone, but I haven’t seen anyone yet.
“This is ridiculous. Someone should have been out here since this happened this morning. This is not good enough!” one irate resident said.
