A LACK OF NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT is keeping businesses in the St Lawrence Gap from raking in big bucks.
As such, says coordinator of the St Lawrence Gap revitalisation programme Hal Austin, if everyone, including Government organisations and private sector entities, got on board, the Christ Church entertainment strip can become a mini Las Vegas – casino, play park and all.
Austin was speaking to the DAILY?NATION after the launch of a tourism management training programme, a Gap initiative, on Saturday evening at Chex Max restaurant.
“St Lawrence Gap has the potential to increase its capacity as a foreign exchange earner and as an employer if we get it right,” he said.
“I envision a mini Las Vegas in St Lawrence; a well-lit street, nice plants, safety and security and having a fully festive atmosphere seven days a week. And we are still optimistic that will happen,” Austin said.
