THE STRIKE CONTINUES.
And it is now up to Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer Suckoo to broker an agreement after talks between the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU)?and the Barbados Agricultural Management Company Ltd (BAMC)?broke down last night at the Labour Department in Warrens, St Michael.
However, until that 3:30 p.m. meeting tomorrow, the head of the island’s most powerful trade union has advised its members at Portvale Factory, St James, to turn up but to do no work until the union’s demands have been met.
The workers went on strike on Thursday to protest the treatment of retrenched colleagues at the now closed Andrews Factory.
