A SEEMINGLY senseless killing has robbed a talented young man of his life.
Charley Dume, 25, of Bird’s Eye View, St Patrick’s, Christ Church, was gunned down Friday evening around 6 p.m. while on the job in the Coyote’s Den at the corner of Nelson and Wellington Streets, The City, following a minor dispute.
He later died in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Owner of the bar, his cousin Evens “Haitian” Marcelin, was present when the incident occurred. He said his cousin was shot several times but added Dume was a quiet person who did not have any quarrels with anyone.
“Charley does move slow, talk slow and does everything slow. He does not talk to nobody [meaning quarrel] but they gone and kill an innocent youth,” he said.
Dume, a singer, had already recorded three songs – two with music videos – and was working on other tracks. (CA)
