In the absence of Sherlock Holmes, Watson delivered.
John Watson, that is.
Punctuated with a fist pump, Watson was the cream of the crop in the 100 metres for men 45 to 49 when the National Senior Games ran off at the National Stadium yesterday.
Before a moderate crowd, Watson (right) managed to power past an excited looking Gregory Small (centre) and Rickson?Leacock (left) to take first place much to his delight.
His performance and reaction was one of the highlights of an otherwise low-key opening day, which saw just about 2 000 spectators journey to the Waterford venue. (RB)
