MEMBERS?of the Spiritual Baptist Church have been cautioned against infighting now that their patriarch Archbishop Granville Williams has died.
The admonition came from cultural historian Elombe Mottley as he paid a tribute to Williams during a thanksgiving service for the late spiritual leader at the Jerusalem Apostolic Cathedral in Ealing Grove, Christ Church, yesterday.
“One thing I am going to admonish you not to do – do not allow infighting to split the church,” Mottley cautioned.
“If you are going to have problems, bring in some mediators to settle it. Do not allow it to cause break-offs and split up into several [factions].
“Try to hold this church together because there are generations to come who will benefit,” he said to much applause from the congregation.
