Sealy: Embrace cultural tourism

BARBADOS MUST embrace the global trend of cultural heritage tourism but it has to put legislation in place to deal with heritage conservation and preservation.
This is the view of Tourism Minister Richard Sealy as he addressed the opening ceremony of the inaugural Caribbean Conference of National Trusts and Preservation Societies at the Savannah Hotel today.
Stressing that tourism accounted for a significant portion of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Caribbean countries, including Barbados, Sealy said there was “ample evidence” to show that cultural heritage tourism was one of the fastest growing segments of tourism”. (HLE)
