Talks resume

THE MAIN PARTIES in the National Conservation Commission (NCC) retrenchment dispute are back at the bargaining table.
After a break for lunch, representatives from the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), the Barbados Workers Union (BWU), and board members of the NCC resumed their meeting with acting Minister of Labour Senator Maxine McClean.
Among those involved in the discussions are deputy chief labour officer Victor Felix and NCC general manager Keith Neblett.
The parties engaged in nearly three-and-a-half hours of talks in the morning session without reaching a resolution. They are meeting to decide the fate of nearly 200 workers who were recently laid off. (YB)
