TAMISHA KING is the winner of the inaugural Guardians of Music Sing-A-Tune Competition with Run Fire Run.
The 16-year-old student of Alma Parris Secondary School beat Adriana Mayers (I Am A Champion) Â from Christ Church Foundation School into second, while St Leonard’s Boys’ Aaron Austin (You Can Smile) and Kade Mascoll (My Advice) finished third and fourth respectively.
Austin and Mascoll also shared the prize for Best Lyrics.
The singing competition is a continuation of the Guardians of Music Programme, which is a joint effort between the Copyright Society for Composers Authors and Publishers (C0SCAP), the Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Organisers are hoping to expand the competition to include other areas in the creative sector next year.
Winners were presented with prizes at a ceremony at Baobab Towers, Warrens, St Michael on Friday. (YB)
