Wanderers still unbeaten

Working like a well-oiled machine, CounterPoint Wanderers, with opener Shayne Moseley hitting his fourth half-century, easily disposed of ICBL Empire by 27 runs yesterday in their Sagicor Twenty20 fifth series match, to remain unbeaten at the end of the preliminary rounds.
Wanderers’ final total of 154 for five was built around some solid partnerships throughout. Moseley and Jonathan Drakes paved the way with a 63-run opening stand.
Moseley top-scored with a delightful 51 decorated with seven threes and four fours off 35 deliveries to push his aggregate to 273 runs while Drakes contributed 33. Moseley then added 47 for the second wicket with Kirk Edwards, who hit a fluent 30.
Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican bowled impressively for returns of three for 26.
Empire’s approach lacked urgency and they meandered along to a final score of 127 for six. Jason Haynes scored 31 while Roston Chase weighed in with 28. Wanderers’ disciplined attack was led by Nikolai Charles, who took three for 18.
